This was the first game I bought when I got Wii but never gotten around to playing it. Now that the HD remake on the switch was there I thought I will try it out and just got hooked on to it. Everything about this game is great – be it the story, the controls, the length and the difficulty. I was happy to see that they did not have any ‘easy’ level and started off with the default ‘normal’ level.
With the first few minutes of the game you realize that this is not for the faint hearted. The difficulty also always borders on the line where you may get frustrated at times but you always come back and when you win the sense of accomplishment is always there.
You are an agent Leon sent to rescue the president’s daughter in a village filled with Zombies. It has puzzles, resource management, boss fights, gripping story and replayability (you can continue the game a second round with your upgraded weapons for a jolly revisit). It took me couple of weeks of intermittent playing to beat the game but it was a lot of fun.
Update: The remake of this classic has launched to great reviews on the PS5 as of March 2023.
