The Odyssey – Stephen Fry

The Odyssey – Stephen Fry

Description:

Greek Mythology like any other mythology is intriguing with so many stories, characters and interactions. While it would take an immense effort to learn them through the traditional sources like Iliad, it is a joy to know them through Stephen Fry’s playful take on them. Especially his audiobooks are outstanding. If you are particular you can go in order – Mythos, Heroes, Troy and finally Odyssey.

Fry brings his brilliant voiceover for several characters giving them a distinct personality while also maintaining a totally different voice for the narration – how he pull it I have no clue. Troy and Odyssey just have a more cohesive narration compared to Mythos and Heroes and are much more followable as a single story. Especially with Nolan’s brilliant screen adaptation I would suggest spending the 20 hours (10 for Troy and 10 for Odyssey) to truly enjoy the masterpiece.
