Taj was always on my list like the Great wall of china and the Pyramids. With the Great wall of China ticked off (courtesy – an official trip), Taj was beconing to be the next. My colleague and car pool mate Nayak informed me that he is planning a trip since there is an offer in GoAir in which round trip air fare would be 5k inclusive of tax and airport fee. I called my wife and booked the tickets the same day. I knew a few who would be interested and checked with them as well. The cost was …

It was the interval and munching some pop corns I was thinking that this film is the best attempted in Tamil Cinema to match a world class quality in action and adventure and also one of the finest films I have seen and there could be nothing in the second half that can take this away from such a superb film – unfortunately, I was wrong. The film starts off and never once misses its pace for the entire long first half. That is a credible thing. Most of the people would be amazed by the attention to detail, the …

Indian cricket fans should have one quality, endurance of pain, the pain of being so near, of almost winning. But among the pains of yesterday when India lost, something else was there to cheer about, a man dedicated to cricket. The devotion that this single man has shown in his life to this sport is amazing to say the least. After a wave of questions of retirement who everyone from my neighbour to the cricketing critics has been throwing at him, yesterday he showed why, he is the BEST. The little master at the age of 36 single handedly carried …

It started with my uncle arranging his daughter’s marriage at dindigul. My brother in law was also invited for the marriage and he masterminded the tour plan. He also had to convince Kayar and finally the tour plan was on. I took upon myself the duty of finding a good place to stay and make an itinerary that would keep everyone sane. Had I left this part to him he would have made sure everyone was on their toes for the full tour. I always think tours should be a relaxed experience rather than rushing to see the most of …

I am watching in joy as Federer is inching towards that famous French win which was eluding him for so long… Will update after seeing him raise the cup. Yeah.. there it is, after losing 3 finals to Nadal. I am a big Federer fan, but I have a feeling that it would have been extremely difficult if Nadal had played again (though Federer beat him in at his own den recently). All thanks to Solderling for ousting Nadal.

I have always been a fan of quality flash games (apart from being a fan of PC games and that too apart from my regular duty of being fan of Wii games). When I first checked this one out, I was like ‘May not be worth it..’ and boy was I wrong. The game kept me busy for quite some time, each time someone interrupting me and killing my progress (of course at home). There is no save option unlike other games and hence it took me longer than usual to beat it. It became addictive and fun. You can …

Rehman did India proud by winning double Oscars at the 81st Academy Awards. I was up at 6.30 and even without brushing my teeth was in front of T.V. Shortly my wife joined me and we were glued to it till 10.30 A.M jumping on various occasions first for Resul Pookutty, then for Rehman and also for Pinky. Finally it was a moment of great joy and pride to see the kids and the caste of Slumdog Millionaire for the Best Picture.
Continue readingOoty Trip
We were all bogged down by different things and needed a break. Ooty was planned and we called Kanni and he confirmed his presence with his wife aka Susi. The plan was that we both contribute equal amounts to the trip. I took off from Dec 24th to Jan 2nd (6 days PL). Kayar was also off and Smitha was in her holidays too. We started on 24th morning, at 6.00 AM and off through Mysore road. We again missed the Kamat and deliberately went past Cafe Coffee day. But it was a good thing as we ate in a …
